The Mystery Remains
Originally assigned to the infantry, Karasik’s orders were changed overnight, and he became a MP when a riot broke out in the Koje-do Island Prison Camp. Over 170,000 POWs were angry, claiming they were being mistreated by guards using German warfare tactics. Tensions rose higher when the POWs captured a Brigadier General, forcing him to sign a document confirming the supposed atrocities.
How the POWs managed to get knives, spears and daggers, was a mystery. . .
